Begin your child’s learning adventure at Camas Day School

A preschool for the 2 - 5 year old learner.

Our Philosophy

Camas Day School believes a happy and loved child is a successful child.

We strive to create a child-centered environment that inspires independence, creativity, and lifelong learning. Our school cultivates learning experiences through play, music, art, early math and literacy skills, and social/emotional teaching, all facilitated by a highly trained team of teachers. Our goal is that the little learners leaving our school are fully ready for their next steps in education and life.

Our Mission

At Camas Day School, our mission is to cultivate and nurture our little learners' emotional, physical, and academic well-being through intentional play, teaching, and experiences. We do this by partnering with families and community members and creating experiences where students learn best.

Classrooms

With the focus on small class sizes and no more than 27 students on campus at one time, our teachers can foster a loving environment that embraces each student and all of our participating families.

Our school comprises of two different age groups: a 2/3 Kintla classroom and a 4/5 Haskill classroom. This ensures that every lesson offers your little ones the appropriate level of engagement.

At Camas, we believe:

  • All students can succeed.

  • Learning should be fun.

  • Experiences are a must.

  • We can do hard things.

  • A literature-rich environment helps develop strong learners.

  • Early literacy and math skills matter.

  • Play is best.

  • Consistent boundaries and high expectations are essential.

  • Students learn best in a safe and caring environment.

  • Intentional teaching and planning help students succeed.

  • Family involvement is vitally important to the success of a child.

  • Modeling and teaching appropriate social behavior is critical to helping students as they grow.

  • Modeling and teaching integrity, honesty, kindness, pride in our school, families, community, and lifelong learning are critical to little learners’ success.
